When preparing homemade dog treats, make sure you take into account any allergies that your pet has to specific ingredients. You will want to avoid adding any ingredient that you suspect that your pet has reacted poorly to in the past. If you are experimenting with new flavors, only feed a small amount of the treat to your dog to see how she reacts to it before giving him an entire treat.

I love this list! First time making dog treats, didn’t have all the ingredients for one recipe so I used this as inspiration. I used peanut butter, eggs, flour, honey, and vegetable broth to make soft, chewy dog biscuits and used a heart cookie cutter. My pugs & chihuahua, and my boyfriend’s goldens loved em! Even tried one myself heheh – turned out like lightly sweetened peanut butter cookies.

Pureed pumpkin (with no added sugar) is one of my favorite ingredients to use in dog treats. It’s nutritious for dogs — it’s high in fiber, low in fat,  and loaded with beta carotene, magnesium, potassium, iron, zinc and vitamins A and C. And the high fiber content in pumpkin can benefit your dog’s digestive track, which is why it’s often recommended for dogs with stomach issues such as diarrhea.
CBD for pets is a topic that is being discussed more and more every day. I’ve done my fair share of research and came across a company called InTuneCBD. I think it’s important to understand and know the ingredients that are in these CBD treats and InTune offers just that! I ordered a free sample through their site and gave it to my furbaby Oliver who has severe separation anxiety and it’s worked wonders for him!
“In 2015, the World Health Organization found that processed meats such as bacon and sausage were known carcinogens linked to cancer. Bacon is an incredibly rich and fatty food with a high salt content, which can prove to be too much for a dog’s stomach to handle. Eating a large amount can cause pancreatitis, which can be fatal.” [http://www.akc.org/expert-advice/nutrition/natural-foods/can-dogs-eat-pork/]”
There are no regulated dosage recommendations for CBD for dogs — or even humans — at this point. What’s more, there aren’t even any generally accepted guidelines about how much CBD for dogs is effective for certain conditions, even taking weight into consideration. So you’ll notice that each company can differ significantly in the amount of CBD in each treat and the number of treats they recommended.
